We had so much fun talking about the new 2016 Pantone Colors of the Year last week with kitchens, that we decided to take a look at some do’s and don’ts for incorporating Rose Quartz and Serenity into bathroom designs.
Once upon a time, vintage pink and blue subway tile bathrooms were all the rage (think: pink sinks, tubs, and toilets). While we can appreciate a well-designed pink tile bathroom, it takes a lot to make it work. That said, we believe this year’s Pantone colors make for the perfect inspiration for new bathroom themes and remodels. Here’s a few ideas on how to incorporate the colors into your design.
Rose Quartz Primary. Rose Quartz as the primary color in a little girl’s bathroom can be feminine and serene. Paint white cabinetry her favorite shade of Rose Quartz with a white marble countertop, and paint the main accent wall a very light Rose tint. All other walls can be white, with crystal or glass frame accents, as well as glass accessories.
Serenity Primary. Serenity Pantone walls and a shade lighter shower curtain, textured window treatments, and floor mats will complement each other nicely. Add Rose Quartz accents like soaps, dishes, flowers and photo frames.
Grey Primary. Start with a light grey wall and darker grey cabinets and use the Pantone colors as your main accents. Find the shade of Rose Quartz you like best and paint an accent mirror this color. Pick up Serenity colored towels, a textured shower curtain and window treatments. Glass or stainless steel accessories will complete the look.
